John do you take the ear cartilage out when you tan them?

It depends. Most of the time I take it all out; however, wall hangers look better with some cartilage in there, so I leave some and salt them or borax them real good. At the minimum, I take out the ear butts (the big cartilage).

I’ll see if I have some done both ways.

Some PM answers…I use all MJ600, MB650, and Bridger 3 dogless. Of the jaw isn’t cast, it’s laminated.

There are a bunch of Mennonite kids across the coulee. I can see them from my back porch. They ride their ponies over and learn. I paid for a few of them to go to the Youth Trapper’s Camp last year. They bring stuff over to learn on pretty often. They have a pretty nice badger skinned in my freezer. We will go over fleshing it this week when I’m sure I won’t give them COVID.
