my cousin had the Mini 30 he loved it , he though it was the perfect truck gun
until the biggest issue with all truck guns , it got stolen
America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

Scheels has em for $999.
I wouldn’t pay $9.99 for one.
You know why the A-Team never killed anyone? They shot mini-14s.

My mini 6.8 spc shoots just about sub MOA out of the box. I would only consider 580 SN on up which is 2005+ when Ruger completely rebuilt their manufacturing machines and had tighter tolerances.
Something else to consider is that Ruger WILL not fix any serial numbers prior to 580. Offering more money than the gun is worth won't matter they don't care, they will still refuse to repair. 6.8scp mini 14 ? When do that happen ? There was an outfit that you send your mini to, and they would accurize them. You could also get it changed to different calibers that fit in the 14, or 30 magazines. Like 6 Grendel, or 300bo. Might be these guys, but can't remember. https://www.accuracysystemsinc.com/

I've got an early mini 14 in .223 Rem. Think I paid around $180 way back when. Not a bad gun but far from a tack driver at 200 yards. I also have a newer mini 14 ranch.... with a laminated stock. A little more accurate but a sweet looking gun. Haven't shot either in over 30 years. They will be my son's someday.

Ruger made Mini 6.8 SPCs for several years, just never marketed them for reasons unknown to me. All the guys I know that have them love them. For the ones that were prior Mini 30s that were then converted, the factory stamp on the rear tang will still say Mini 30. You can find them on Gunbroker although the price is somewhere between 1k-$1500. Mini 30 mags convert great if you buy another 5 round mini 6.8 SPC mag follower.

I've had several through the years. Had one, a 223, first generation that were not noted for accuracy, that would put 10 rounds of 52 grain Sierra hollowpoints in a tiny little cluster at 100 yards. Dang thing thought it was a target rifle.. Buddy had one about 10 numbers away in the serial number range, that wouldn't put put 10 shots in the same zip code. Sold mine years ago, and the guy still has it, kills coyotes, groundhogs, etc. with it regularly. Picked up a mini30 ranch a while back, one of the later models, stainless, synthetic stock. Slapped a no name 3-9x on it and raided the grandson's stash of 'red army' 7.62x39 to see if it would function. It shot that ammo about as expected, 3 to 5 inch for 5 shots. Loaded some 123 SST's, and it will do an inch to inch and a half. Killed a doe and a couple of pigs with it, so it works.

I have had three over the years. First one was older and grouped 1 1/2" at a hundred yards. Decided to buy a Ranch model when they came out. Traded in the one I had and what a mistake. Could not hit a pie plate at 50 yd's. The one I have now was new when I took it to Accuracy Systems in Colorado. Came back one sweet rifle. 3/4" groups at 100 yd's and a dream to shoot. Took a very deep pocket to pay for it but one sweet rifle for calling. Roy

Cheez sounds like most owners of them are well satisfied. Thanks for the input.I was not aware of this outfit called Accuracy Systems. They must specialize in doctoring the Mini .I doubt that I could bite that off after paying $900 for one ,I might get lucky and Get a good one out of the box !
