Anyone been out skiing? I'm thinking of trying to make a groomer to pull behind my atv or snowmobile

We don't have enough snow to snowshoe this winter

Why groom a trail? Just go out and ski. I did that around our home and through the woods for years. As I aged I turned to the snowshoes.

I thought about that, but a groomed trail might be more fun.

The skis I need, but cant get here, without making my own, 9' or 10' long, 4" wide with enough camber for a fella of my weight...235lbs, are what I need to go off trail , cross country in 2' of snow in dry forest snow and stay on top. I have a few pair that do not meet that criteria.

I prefer the down hill kind. Cross country seems like to much work in these mountains.

I used to ski 3 miles to work and back in ND in the 80's

I was sweaty but I got there on time fine.

I prefer classic skiing over skate skiing. Skate skiing looks like more work & less fun.

my uncle used to groom ski trails as his winter job

old snow mobile with a weighted sled that was basically a box with skis and weight it made 2 different widths as I recall a narrow and a wider track

if you didn't want the ski tracks cut it could just be a weighted sled

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

Yeah, it seems like most people that own groomers rely on a homemade groomer.

If I make slots, I wonder if deer will use the trail and damage the ski tracks.
