Anybody have any experience with a Winchester SXP? I had never seen one in person until today. For me it shouldered really nice. But with my superb ability to miss it wouldnt matter if it was a custom fit gun or a high point. LoL
Looking to maybe pick one up to use as a Turkey gun.

Tofan, never heard of a SX1-3. So I think you mean version 1 through 3. I have 4 SuperX Model 1's, one skeet and three trap. All 4 made here in the US in the 70's. Fastest and smoothest cycling gas gun I have ever used. They are true work horses. The version 2 thru 4 are/were made in Europe and if I'm not mistaken share a lot of similarities with the Browning Gold. I'm not a Browning fan so I avoid them if at all possible.
At least $1k or more difference between the SXP and the SuperX-4

Thanks for the input guys. Been a life long pump gun shooter, to the point if I use an auto I forget I dont have to pump. So wanting to stay in the budget friendly pump gun category. What ever I end up with will be 90% a turkey only gun, so maybe get shot 5-10 times a year between patterning and hunting. I currently use a 870 express super mag turkey/waterfowl model. But my son really likes it after using it to take his bird last year, so he wants to claim it and that would put me in the market for a new gun.
Not really much for choices in my area that I have found so far. Not a really keen on buying online. One gun shop only had a Mossberg 935, a 500, and a single shot. Never have liked Mossberg or Benelli so that limits my available options. I am not in a super hurry but turkey season for us is the middle of April so I cant take too long.

I have a couple of friends that have them (trap models). They use them as their crap weather guns. Both have 32" barrels. I find them to be very nose heavy and not at all smooth cycling, very "glitchy". They will break targets once you get accustomed to the lack of balance. A shorter barrel and some judicious stoning might possibly go a long ways. The one I looked at had a 26 inch barrel.

I have a Winchester long beard and I absolutely love it. I've owned a bunch of different brand turkey guns over the years but this one has been the best performing one I've shot. I also use it for predator hunting when I don't feel like carrying the rifle. Thanks for the input. Given the low availability of anything and me removing some brands from contention my choices are limited. The one I looked at was in mossy oak bottom land with a 26 inch barrel and was classified by winchester as a waterfowl model.

I have one. I bought it about 12 years ago and have jammed thousands of rounds thru it. They're were good guns then but I'm not sure about now. I have never had an issue and it's seen alot of abuse and a fair amount of neglect if I'm being honest
Brings down the ducks anyways Thank you for responding.

I use a 20 ga. SXP as my turkey gun. My main gripe is the heavy trigger but I manage to take a half dozen or so turkey with it every spring. It is light to carry and with TSS, the range is as good as the 12 ga. 870 that it replaced. Have no idea how it would hold up on an Argentinian dove shoot.

This definitely would not see high volume shooting.

Use it for turkeys and it has shot a lot of 1 1/2 to 1 5/8 oz loads when I was finding shells I wanted to run through it. Now it gets shot 10 times a year in a good season but have had no issues.

If you can find one, I'd recommend a look at the Browning BPS. Would definitely look at one if I come across a camo one. But just not sure if I would like the bottom eject.

At least $1k or more difference between the SXP and the SuperX-4 Yes SX1, SX2 and SX3 were all made in Belgium in the same factory as the Brownings. The SX4 though was never made there, only in Portugal which I guess qualifies as Europe . All great guns like you said, the only thing out of place is the price you quoted. A brand new SX4 is 800-1200 depending on model, most are in the 850 range. Most of the SXPs I see, are around 350, are they higher in NY??
