I always get delayed. There used to be a number to call to get your purchase expedited? Did a search and only came up with the main number on the east coast. Any help is appreciated

They have a program that you can get "Pre-Vetted" for a fee, and avoid a lot of the BS. But, it's another layer of intrusion by the Feds.

if your 4473 back ground check is being sent in at a high demand time it can cause a delay...or if you have a very popular name like - john smith. i always use my CCW permit as ID to buy firearms ...usually takes about 15 minutes.. unfortunately that is not an option in every state , if the state legislature didn't allows the use of your CCL as the background check then it takes the regular nics
America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

Are you buying from a store? WA state law requires atf transfer even by private purchase Oregon -- same way -- 2-3 weeks here. I believe that us liberal states are purposely slow to respond.

Using my CCW permit takes 5 minutes and done. Visiting with my buddy who owns the shop takes an hour and a cup of coffee.

Insta check was a bad idea. I did everything i could to oppose it when Bill Clinton and the NRA told everyone how wonderful it would be. Does anybody reading this think it has prevented any crimes?
Shall not be infringed. I am not going to get a CCW. Shall not be infringed. We keep getting more infringement and gun crime is still horribly high. So pay those NRA dues and sleep soundly. Gun control is making your gramma safer. You just cant tell it. The laws are there. How horrible crime would be if anybody that wanted a gun could buy one from his local crack dealer.

They have a program that you can get "Pre-Vetted" for a fee, and avoid a lot of the BS. But, it's another layer of intrusion by the Feds. I was told that they discontinued that. Used to be that LE could go in after that was filed and it normally would come back right away as a go. I bought a gun a few years back and the guy at the counter was a douche who was trying to weasel me and another friend off of my friend's land. I had even let the douche turkey hunt my land until he stabbed me in the back. Then I kicked him out. My return would not come back. A couple hour later, it still would not go through. A week later it was still held up. Then I got PO and went into Cabelas wearing my uniform. The guy at the counter was a retired highway bull who tried for years when I was a kid to nail me for something big, but all he could get me for was bald tires and seatbelts. Can't nail someone for something they aren't doing. It went through instantly. Turns out, douchebag was purposely preventing it from going through. If I could have proven it, I would have pressed to issue and went after him and Cabelas.

During the Obama panic buy, NJ's NICs was backed up 6 months.
Federal Law requires a federal NICS check. NJ Law requires the NJSP to do a NICS check. So we get two of the exact same check for every purchase.

This is KS state law. Supposed to be felony to make a citizen of KS comply with insta check when buying a firearm in KS. Sorry excuse for legislators and state attorney we have will not push it. No clue why they passed the 2nd ammendment protection act years ago then chose to ignore it. Sec. 7. It is unlawful for any official, agent or employee of the government of the United States, or employee of a corporation providing services to the government of the United States to enforce or attempt to enforce any act, law, treaty, order, rule or regulation of the government of the United States upon a firearm, a firearm accessory, or ammunition that is owned or manufactured commercially or privately in the state of Kansas and that remains within the borders of Kansas. Violation of this section is a severity level 10 nonperson felony. http://www.kslegislature.org/li_2014/b2013_14/measures/documents/hb2199_00_0000.pdf
