Go buy a new crapper and water valve and put it in yourself. Its gonna be cheaper than a plumber. Put the old crapper out front and plant roses in it.

X2 $20 and 15 minutes.
The only thing not included is new water line.

This. Mine was leaking in the same place 2 months ago. For$15, buy one of the kits at lowes and replace.

So, you have the "service guard protection plan" where they are supposed to fix your appliances. Then why are you turning the heat down on your water heater and taking sponge baths? Shouldn't they be required to replace your defective water heater? I'm not familiar with the kind of protection plan you mentioned, but unless I'm missing something, it sure doesn't sound like you are getting your monies worth Dave.

I know you can fix the toilet yourself. And I'm confident you are more than capable to do it too. Watch some YouTube videos and work your way through it.

Heres the thing coonman. It sounds like you got a crapper issue. Now A couple weeks back I had a similar problem. My wife who notices everything says to me we got a leak behind the crapper. So down I go to take a peak at my crapper.Sure enough theres a leak.So I figure maybe tighten down a couple things and see if it fixes.Would you know it I tightened just a little to much and pouf the whole line exploses. Well good thing there was a water shut off valve near.So I turns the valve and shut the water. Now old plumbing can be an issue esp. when it comes to crappers.Luck would be in my favor this day.I was able to unscrew the bad line and got to the hardware for a new one,When I went in store one of the hang arounders says to me man thats an old one.Have not seen a crapper part like that in years.Anyway the owner hes a good guy and I known him near forever. He takes me to the plumbing section and says you need this part you got a crapper issue eh.He says you have it fixed before dinner which I did.
The thing is coonman you gotta be able to fix a few things when you own a home. Now i know down at the senior center they have these what they call fixit classes.Once a month they give lessons on how to fix things in your home.Look them up and give them a call.I bet they would be happy for you to bring your crapper in for a show and tell.

Or if you were ever in the Army, you know what a cathole is. Keep it simple.

Google YouTube and fix it yourself. Not that hard and could guarantee my 17 year old daughter could fix it.

Ha! My poor old ma did that for years until I found out.

Many water utilities will give you a dye packet to help locate leaks.
