I caught a raccoon with a broken glass bottle top on its arm. The edges were worn and smooth like its been on there for awhile. Thought it was pretty neat. I am sure we have all seen some pretty wild and interesting things on the trap line but it got me thinking, What other odd things were attached to critters you caught?

That is a pretty crazy way to band a raccoon. Would have thought the coon would have figured out how to get it off or would have broken the glass.

I caught an armadillo with some kind of plastic band through its leg.
If it makes a track on this earth , I can catch it.

I caught a coyote maybe 30 years ago with an arrow head in it. Funny, a few years ago I found an arrow with a coyote stuck on it!

Had a skunk in a cage today somehow it started to try escape through a small place someone shot the wire in the past (a cage I traded for). It managed to push the head far enough through the wire and pulled enough loose fur along it could not pull back out of the hole. We had just looked at the cage a little bit before on the way to dinner it was curled up napping, I planned to get it on the way back so if it sprayed it would not mess up the meal plans. Not a small skunk it was a rather large one.

Got a beaver skull with a 22lr bullet imbedded in the bone by the eye socket. Didn’t even know it was there till I did the skull. Killed four yotes with tracking collars on them. ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2022/01/full-8184-123560-b6f538bd_0119_4694_93c4_39f8b179a9ee.jpeg)

Small coon with one of those plastic six pack rings around neck. Must have pretty young when it got into it. Was getting pretty tight probably would have killed it soon. Pretty lucky it hadn't snagged on anything it couldn't get loose from.
Couple of "shouldn't be shot at" critters with shot or bullet just under skin.

Found a skunk skull in a glass jar out trapping(open). No other bones around it. but it could have been carried away.

Find a lot of strange stuff searching thru the ditch grass for coon trails.

I remember from when i was a kid there was a commercial on those 6 pack rings with birds tangled in them and you were supposed to cut them so they couldn't get caught in them. I still cut them up when i get plastic bottles of pop. Funny how we remember certain things
