I bought the Traeger tailgate model last year and love it. Had a Bradley before that and it quit working not long after i got it.

What are you wanting to do with it? Trager type are good for small to medium sized cooks, vertical are great for larger cooks and bulk stuff like jerky and sausages, There are models that cover every thing including cold smoking. A stick burning offset is traditional but harder to learn on.

Masterbuilt electric has a good following. I wore one out and bought a second. I did have to replace the control panel computer chip board thingy a couple times. They also have a website with lots of members to help you https://www.smokingmeatforums.com/ with your questions.

You will find that all the professional, commercial smokers prefer electric. Backyard folks seem to like something they have to drink a case of beer while they monitor for 12 hours using natural wood. I have a Bradley electric smoker. I like it, but I would opt for a smoker that doesn't require the expensive wood pucks required to operate it. I would probably go with the electric Masterbuilt on my next one.

Another master built guy here. Been thru a couple. I had a lot of problems with the digital model. Now have a cheaper analog style and like it way better.

Another vote for masterbuilt, I purchased the masterbuilt 1050 gravity fed. Love it!!!
To be honest it’s too easy to use. Maintains temperature well an is just like a easy bake oven to be honest.

I prefer electric that burn chunk wood, at some I will build an all wood fire type but probably won’t ever give up my electric, right now I’m using a cheap mecco smoker that works for me.
