Over there.
Is ammo back on the shelves where you are? If so, are the prices still high?

Yes. And it is higher than pre shortage. But I've got some, and buying more as I am able. Picked up 8 more boxes 50 count 40 s&w at 15.00 per. Next I'll look at 7.62x39. Got a bunch 5.56 put by. Way things are looking it may get bad again soon.

I picked up 3 100 rd packs of 20g 7.5 shot for around $30, 1 100rd 12g 8 shot and 2 boxes to 6 shot in 12 g at Walmart in the last day. One trip before work one after got my 3 box limit each time. Planning on taking the boys to the clay range soon and don't want to get into my stash.
.

That had a lot of .22lr but almost all lead round nose.

I still can't find any 243. Looking for Hornady American whitetail. But saw some barns tsx and the interlocks so I may just have to load them.

Plenty of 9mm and 5.56, some 308 Win and 6.5 creed. Prices are coming down, but not inexpensive.

Prices were dictated by private sellers and people bought it , These gougers would go in and out of the store with wife and a friend or two and buy till shelves were bare ,then resell at auctions and other places for what ever the market would bare .Didnt take stores long to find this out and that 2 box limits didnt work . But raising prices did .It will be slow to come down.

If people are still buying at the higher prices, why would they ever sell it cheaper?

Powder and primers. Scarce and pricey. It is getting old

Before this started you had your more popular hunting rounds on the shelves, and the obsolete you could order. Now its as if everybody owns .223's,and 9 mm and everything else is obsolete.I've been hearing horror stories of $60 a box for 30/30s,I myself found 8mm Mauser online last fall for $70 a box,the same manufacturer that sold them for $25 a box before all this started.I've heard the reasons,I still don't get it.Its as if hunting rounds of all types have been left behind. And they were the basis of the ammo industry before this all started.

a lot more on the shelf , not everything and it is very hit and miss and still selling quickly

2 weeks ago there was a stack of 12ga slugs at fleet in my brand so I bought a years worth at my normal use glad I did 2 weeks later there were a few boxes of 3 inch only and no 2 3/4

you can find 9mm especially personal defense ammo but maybe not your brand

rifle the common stuff is back , but limited brands and quantity, the less common stuff still waiting

so Much better but when completely emptry shelves were the norm 1/3 of a shelf sure looks good

they are not stocked deep it isn't like the shelf is full clear to the back

I would say fleets shlves are 1/2 a many as they were 3 years ago I think they used to have 4 isles and now have 2 and those are much better but not full

the local gun shop had most of the pistol ammo , he said 357 is still just unavailable as is brass for 357
his shelf didn't change in side , but instead of having boxes 24 inches deep on the shelve and plenty of replacement in the back now he might have 4 boxes and that is it

prices are not insane like they were but are more than they ever were.

16 used to be about right for win , fed, rem, 50 rounds brass cased re-loadable
and 11.99 for the tula

now 22-24 for the brass re-loadable and 16 for the tula steel

remember your money is worth 27% less than it was in 2019 so 20 dollars would be about correct just based on inflation.

.17 HMR here is $17 for a box of 50.
Yellow boxes of Winchester Super X .22 are $40 per 250 rounds I think.

if you Need it I would still start shopping early and often and have it put away months before season.

you probably have a year or twos put away but anyone who doesn't have this year covered shouldn't wait too long

last fall pheasant loads were near unavailable in early Oct thru Nov 25-35 a box if you did find them

deer slugs were the same leading into dear season last year

i have a few boxed of Pheasant loads purchased and on the shelf I will buy a couple more I am trying to keep under 18 a box so as I see them

Yep. We are our own worst enemy. Paying 40-50 cents per round for 9mm will keep 9mm at 40-50 cents per round.
