Are those the Birds that when they holler, they sound like a Woman being choked to death ???. I think those are either Storks or Great Blue Herons. Most God Awful sound I ever heard !

Not sure what you are describing but birds pictured are sandhill cranes

No. These are Sandhill Cranes. They have a drawn out trumpeting/reverberating type call. I think they are beautiful sounding.

I tell people their sound is that of a cross between a group of ravens and a bunch of mo'dos'....

Haven't seen them yet. Saw 1st Robins today and have swans and geese every where.

why do people hunt these things? are they really tastier than geese and ducks? close to a turkey? just wondering what a wild bird that size taste like

Cant help but think they sound like what pterodactyls might have sounded like..very prehistoric sounding
