Are those the Birds that when they holler, they sound like a Woman being choked to death ???. I think those are either Storks or Great Blue Herons. Most God Awful sound I ever heard ! Not sure what you are describing but birds pictured are sandhill cranes

No. These are Sandhill Cranes. They have a drawn out trumpeting/reverberating type call. I think they are beautiful sounding.

why do people hunt these things? are they really tastier than geese and ducks? close to a turkey? just wondering what a wild bird that size taste like Eat a sandhill and you wont ever want to eat ducks or geese again...
