I wouldn't even call it trespassing... Hard to trespass on property that your taxes pay for. That's like trespassing in a city park.
As for the broken windows and other acts of vandalism... Round up everyone who was IN the building, tally up the total cost of the damages, and fine everyone involved for an equal share to cover the damage.
That should've been the solution... But instead the idiots working in the capitol doubled down on stupid and sent the clear message that they don't care about the opinions of their constituents. They decided to send a message of brute force instead... So now people understand they have no real method of redress for grievances. And the idiots in the capitol feel secure in their power... Until the next time when they get drug out of the building by their hair and end up being fitted for a blindfold. And they'll wail and cry and ask why, when in fact they were the ones responsible for leaving us no other choice.
Every tyrant that was deposed by their own people throughout history missed the warning sign. It never occurs to them that they made the wrong decision at a crucial point... Until they're standing in front of a noose or a brick wall.

The "tyrant" stirred up his disciples before and after the election and they rioted.
Look up the footage from that day--a bunch sore losers using the same antics as BLM/ANTIFA.
Stop romanticizing riots because you happen to agree with the rioters. If you lose an election, you work hard to win the next one. That's how our Constitution and this country works.
Yes, I agree that Biden is a disaster and I agree that that all rioters should be prosecuted equally. Unequal levels of prosecution however does not alleviate one or the other from culpability.
