Kayleigh OP trapper Joined: Jan 2022 Posts: 46 Kansas	I see the chickadees every day and the cedar waxwings a few times a week. The ruby-crowned kinglet was a first for me. I also included one of my momma hens. Her chicks are about a week old now.

My camera is a Pentax K5iis and the lens depends on the subject. For birds I use the Pentax DA* 300, for smaller things like bugs I use the Pentax 100mm macro. I almost always crop the photos, sometimes quite a lot. I can never get as close as I'd like. I will also brighten them or add some contrast. I never could get the hang of editing beyond the basics. Here are the same photos straight out of the camera for comparison. You can see they are all cropped quite significantly and brightened, especially the ruby-crowned kinglet.

It is spring at last, and I'm glad to have it. I've never had luck with morels, never have found one. I don't really go anywhere besides my own property though, so I may do better to try somewhere else. We've been getting some rain so they should be popping up.
