Blew a hydraulic line on a loader last week.
8'4", 1/2", FJIC both ends.

Run to.local shop, guy lays mine out on table, makes new one in 3 minutes.
I'm out the door, minutes later, but almost $90 poorer!

Used the guy years ago, was fast, good, and not too pricey.

So, look over machine, lots of hoses look BAD.
I was going to.replace all, but $$$.

Enter Surplus Center
Used to.used them 20+ years ago, but forgot about them.

Hoses were CHEAP!
As in, can get 4 or 5 for price of 1 locally.

Swapped them.all.out today.

Make sure they use GOOD hose. I have experienced the same pricing. local shops charge desperation rates and ususally use cheap hose.

Not all hydraulic hoses or components are created equal. Even high quality pieces are only as good as the assembler.

Just put 1,100 in hoses on my loader, probably need 3,000 worth for one of the trucks. I would hate to end up with cheap hoses and blow one on someone's concrete.

I just replaced two hydraulic hoses on a tractor front end loader. 72” hoses with a compound fitting on one end and on the other end a fitting that goes through a bracket and has a locknut for stabilization and then terminates with a quick connect.

They were made by an expert and are all Parker hose and components. $220 out the door for the hoses made right at my New Holland dealer. I can be a challenging customer, and those folks always treat me great.

I make hoses, Parker hose isn’t cheap in the last couple years my cost has jumped about 50 percent, fittings are a just as bad, when steel and oil are the main components it’s going to get high.

Oh, local guy uses good stuff, but I had sticker shock!
Then again, probably been 15-20 years since I've been there.

Inexpensive stuff looks decent, 2 wire.

Most of stuff I pulled was Gates and probably been in service 25 years.

Guess I see how Chinesium hoses and fittings hold up.
Jones brand, they tried to make it sound ' Murican!

Parker Hose is good stuff, any other brand is stuff. PSI ratings are very important too, along with flex rating.

My experience with the cheap ones is one will last 20 years and the next will last 20 minuets, the problem is consistency, for your sake I hope they last 20 years there isn’t much else that makes a bigger mess than a blown hydraulic hose.

Looks good except R1 is a one wire hose, R2 is two wire but the pressures are for two wire, I would say they messed up their number.

The hose and the fittings are not really that expensive even the parker it's the labor they charge . If one could find a used crimper that would be the way to go.

Thanks.
Will see how it holds up.

A lot of the items they sell are takeoffs, for $0.10 on the dollar, but hoses are all new and they have PLENTY.

AW 46 went up 27% in little over a month....I just filled my 275 gallon tank. Still not as bad as my 500 gallon Off road diesel tank.

Fittings can be tricky to find locally. Sometimes they have what you want and sometimes they don't. Honestly I don't care about hydraulic hose prices as long as it is a reputable brand name and proper fittings. One place has decent prices but they were sold out of hydraulic hose.

Quality hoses and proper assembly pay for themselves in more ways than some people realize. Blow out a hose in someones driveway or yard and you have to clean up the mess. Blowout one on a construction site and you have to do the same thing except maybe someone notices that you lost enough oil to classify as a hazardous waste spill. Yep, that ain't gonna be cheap. Oh, have you noticed the price of oil, hydraulic fluid, etc lately. It's worth it to get name brand hose and fittings and have them assembled using the proper tools.
