....a leveling kit and 33s changed its appearance. Also stiffened up the ride a little and probably lessened the fuel mpg, but I like it......

A ring gear swap will get the mileage back to a degree.

When I changed my tires on my Tacoma to a more aggressive tread it dropped it down about 2-3 mpg. If I didn't do so much muddy/snowy road driving I would go back to the car tires it came with.

Bought it new in 2016. Only have 70,000 miles on it now. I sure like the look it has now. Only took the price of 17 nuisance beavers to lift it and put new tires on.

Yep one Toyota flaw MPG . I drove a Tacoma only for over 20 years . Had 3 different one. Switch to a full size chevy because it got 5 MPG more than any taco I ever drove. PLUS the ride and room was worth it. Chevy sucks when trying to park in the new lots designed for mid sized sedans.

Leveling kit. Not sure of brand. 4x4 shop ordered kit and did the work Told me it adjusts from 1" to 3". It takes 2.5" front lift to level that model.

Never could understand the reasoning of having the nose of a truck set down lower then the rear.

Me neither. I've been wanting to level it since I bought it.

So when you put a heavy load in it, it won't squat in the rear.

So what do you do for clearance driving in the woods in the meantime?
