But the fronts on those canoes were strongly built that you could have put a rope on it and dragged it to the truck, cause that style of Al they used dragging over rocks was no problem.

Lowe boats are made about 10 miles from my home. In Lebanon Mo. The original company was Landau or Appleby which sold out. A relative, I think son in law started Lowes. Lowes later sold out to a corporate structure. And another relative started G3 boats. Lowes and G3 are both still active in Lebanon. G3 sold to the corporation that owns Yamaha Add in the Tracker plant and a couple smaller pontoon and canoe mfg. Lebanon may be the aluminum boat town.
There are lots of Lowe canoes at the float trip places locally. Very serviceable, and canoes get roughed up on the rock bottom rivers in south Mo. They are probably the second choice, most like Osagians better. But I'm not sure Osage Canoe is still in business. Charger boats is about 25 miles away in Richland. My Dad worked at the predecessor Richline.

if we had to make the offer in Canadian dollars 250 US would be 315 Can so that is probably part of it

also the way people use canoes here vs there is different. unfortunately now if you go anywhere a jet ski or ski boat can put in your likely to get swamped by one if your in a canoe unless you stick to early morning

true they are not hard to set.

there are some god videos out on how

I still use an epoxy when setting new rivets , a little JB weld Marine is cheap insurance.

drill out clean around the hole , a tooth pick worth of epoxy in the hole rivet in and drive a 2 pound hammer makes a decent bucking bar

A grumman is a heavier canoe than many other brands. Great canoe, but like I said above, not my choice for a trapping canoe. Lighter is better when your trapping, for all the obvious reasons!

There are many kinds of canoes to use for trapping and other purposes.
I have several for different applications.
When I am on the river which is rocky in places,or bigger water I use my 14 ft fibreglass Kawartha canoe-fairly light and tough.I normally wont be loading or unloading it on the bike or truck more than a couple times a day.It handles well on the river for longer trips and in the wind on bigger water.

For muddy small pond trapping or ditch trapping I use a sportspal 12 ft.it is super light and I can throw it on and off the bike all day long with little effort. It is beat up and leaks a little, but that is irrelevant for its purpose to me.
I dont believe that there is an "all around" canoe.

I have three aluminum canoes, the last one was free on the curb, everyone around here wants a kayak, they only are paddling around. The aluminum skiff I picked up two weeks ago curb shopping scrap went straight to the metal recycler for .70 a pound, it was junk, or I'd have tried to sell it for $50.

Good deal. Great price. That canoe is a great trapping rig. Light but sturdy. Live in one of those for many years

Aluminum is cheaper, but noisy and tends to grab rock when it hits.
