I use these conduit hangers. I put one half on my stretcher board..i use the shallow unistrut. I have a bunch of boards on the 3" or 4" conduit hangers (but I think the size of the hanger may not matter much), the strut channel that you mount to the ceiling needs to be deep, so that you can remove individual stretchers from the middle of the channel without removing all of them. PM me and I can text you pictures.

I buy the cheapest hanger straps I can find (like the ones in Eagleye's post), hammer them flat and mount one per board. The boards stay on the struts whether they are in use or not.

I wonder if the teeth on my hangers are too long for the shallow strut channel? Somehow I ended up with 2 different sizes of strut channel, the deep one works well, but I have trouble with the shallow one... I was going to hammer the hangers flat, but I never got around to it, not I thinks it looks kind of cool having all the boards hanging a little bit at an angle.

Shorten them up with a hack saw to give more room to go up and turn to come out.

SNIPERB what did you use washers? To hang cables from uni strut I would guess he’s using fender washers, a nice small inner hole so his cable ferrule doesn’t slide through.
