I had places over my knee when I mowed them , bagged everything , starting to cut things for a second time now they are getting long enough to harvest again in the front yard

need that mulch for around the plants in the garden

at no point did I not have something to offer the bees and I have a few of the big bumbles hanging around nearly every day

not sure exactly what type this is maybe a southern planes or a brown belted?

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

Well, I was able to squeeze one more mowing in on May 31. Not that I really like mowing, and not that it really needed it, just couldn't pass up the last chance to defy the lawn police.

Meanwhile in nearby Bemidji, the City Council had to pass a special motion to suspend an existing ordinance that dictates when residents have to mow their lawn, in order to now tell their residents not to mow their lawn. No, you can't make it up.

There was or is not much growth here where we live with the whole no mow deal as it has been dry enough that lawns are brown and the dandilion season was a couple days. Not every year is like that however.

I would hate being told that I had to mow.

.........or not to mow. How about folks just decide for themselves.

Well the grass in my yard has finally gone to seed so now I can mow. I've found that this mowing method works well. The grass will now grow very slowly throughout the rest of the season.
I do feel bad for the cottontails. They have really been enjoying all the lust greens.

It tells people to preregister. Nowhere does it say mowing in May is disallowed

I stand corrected, but thought it ironic that they needed to suspend an existing ordinance that required mowing, to now encourge folks not to mow.

Is this just a local ordnance? It can't be a statewide Ordnance on when to mow can it???

God please keep they 19 fallen UBB miners out of trouble up there.

Yes, it was a local City ordinance that required folks to keep their lawns mowed. My whole point was just to make fun of how far government can creep into every facit of our lives. In this case the City, in there effort to be all green by jumping on the No Mow band wagon, had to suspend their own ordinance that conflicted with the "movement".

Yes government can be edgy but from my experience they are leinient when compared to many of the private gated communities etc. There can be whole laundry lists of things you need to do and not do and that is all above the entrance hoops one may need to jump. I will take a township ordinance over that extreme any time. Some neighborhood watch groups set up very rigid constraints that are not government driven at all. I knew two coupls who when hired and moved to the area where they were going to work bought and then found out there were limits on how many cars could be in the driveway, garbage and trash containers, type and location etc. etc. They both sold within 2 years. The ,main reason for all the limitations was to hopefully maintain property values, but then complain about their real estate taxes.

Have to laugh at this because I work with a guy that lives in a sub division and said my new F150 isn't allowed in the driveway yet he drove a beat to H old buick car and I just laughed and thought how stupid is that , but that's why I don't live even close to shite like that . Jon

Turning in to no mow June here. Drier than dry. Grass is staying short and browning up. There's a lot more clover in my yard than I realized. Thats ok by me and the honeybees love it.

I haven't mowed since May 6, doesn't look like I will be in the next week or two either.

I ended up mowing May 21st and that was the only time I've mowed this year, and it still doesn't need it. I generally don't fertilize. It's been dry the last month. My yard actually seems more lush since I started mowing only a half dozen times a year.
