When my wife wrote her exam to be certified as a nurse it was in a conference centre in Saskatoon. On her way out after the test there was 3 or 4 recruiters from US hospitals handing out material. We seriously thought about it at the time but decided to pass. This was a decade ago and the shortages have only gotten worse.

Over the years, I had four colonoscopies. Two in Pennsylvania and two in Idaho and I never had a long wait. This includes other health tests and recently two major surgeries. Universal health care must really suck to wait 6-8 months for a colonoscopy especially if one is needed immediately.
