I thought Trapperman would be a great place to ask since we have carried all sorts of .22's through the years. I recently purchased one. Does anyone have any idea where to get a leather holster for this revolver with the 8 3/8" barrel? Would be nice to find a lined holster to keep down on holster wear. Would prefer brown leather. Any advice? Thanks. Jim

Jim, I have a chest carry rig I use to carry a model 29 of that size. I have a S&W 17 with a six inch barrel that I just tried in it. I think it would work for you if you want a chest carry rig. Mine is made for a scoped pistol but make the same size for a non scoped of that size as well. The nomenclature on mine is Galco C219WCD model KH172H. It wasn't cheap before you look it up. Good luck.

Nice find, those model 17 are nice.

In regards to your question El Paso Saddlery could probably fix you up with a belt or chest holster. I have one of their Tanker holsters that was made for a S&W 6" N-Frame and I carry an old High Standard Sentinel in it on the trapline. Along with the N-Frames and the Sentinel it holds Ruger Blackhawks and L-Frames just fine.

Tripple K makes a holster for the S&W 17 8 3/8" barrel. I have one for a S&W 17 with 4 inch. It can used either for a right hand side or cross draw. Can be either lined or unlined.
