Seems I post this annually but these two “kids” are the reason many of us are alive. They had 6 seconds to live, maybe knew it, and leaned into their weapons like heroes when the rest of the guard - Iraqi police - ran for cover. Many say the military has gone down hill. Some things could be better, some things are better than they were. At the end of the day, there are people like this, all over the world, ready to protect what we love. They’d do it again if they could. Remember them.
