18 months ago brought LP siding for a cabin, paid just under $35.00 per 4x10 sheet, just checked on prices today for another cabin $98.00 for the same size sheet. (same product, same lumber yard) Think I'll wait for awhile before residing,

It's not just lumber, it's demand for everything that's not essential that's down. I work at Lowes, and my store's sales are down over 40% from this time last year.

People are putting things off right now , hoping prices will come down . Some said they're paying more for gas and insurance more than one insurance, like health and auto . Than they're making extra over just household costs . Here stores and banks are closing because people can't afford gas , so they took jobs for less or the same pay closer to home . Also I don't understand why no one wants to work , there's jobs everywhere , and paying well over $ 14.00 an hour . Stopped at a DG and the prices doubled on many items . And they're closed many times for lack of help . Same with fast food places .

We are waiting to build a house until materials bottom out.
Or will wait until the coming depression drives land and home prices so low that we will buy what we want.

All lumber is still too high for building a large amount.
