This afternoon after a long battle with cancer..

Dayton was the biggest supporters of wv trappers I know.. he was the biggest buyer of fur and roots In The state.

His death is a huge blow to wv trappers and the wv trappers association.

Rest In Peace Dayton Dove.

That's exactly the problem.

He was a good guy and wv trappers lost a big source of support for their furs.

The WVTA has lost a tremendous asset. Dayton was very supportive, especially anything for the kids.

His celebration. Ofife service is Sunday from 2 to 6 at Landis Ruritan 4 miles out of Petersburg on 220

Jerry and I are making the trip to pay our respects.

Dayton loved my fresh hen eggs..

Everything I'd talk to him and let him know qe were coming over to see him he'd say..bring me aomw.of those good eggs of yours...and I'd load him up with them.

He always had Joyce prepare a meal for us when we'd come over to see him and we'd spend the Afternoon with them.

Jerry went over during deer season and spent a day hunting with him up on his property there outside of Petersburg. He spent the night and they enjoyed there time together talking trapping.

I'll miss knowing Dayton was around. He called me "blue eyes"

I did not know him but reading Cathryn's little story caused me to immediately think "who is going to replace him or others like him"? I am afraid that the answer is no one.

The one sure thing we can count on is the fact that time moves on and change is a part of life .The best thing we can hope for is to make a positive impact on the people we deal with .It sounds like he did that and more .I did not know he either .But I know others that like him devoted their life to helping others enjoy the outdoor like style we all are a part off . The world can be thankful for a life time well spent

There is no one to take up the slack that their will be in the WV fur environment caused by Daytons death.

I'm afraid the fur prices here will further deteriorate without Daytons competitive spirit when it came to fur buying.

The deer hide market is the same as done now in wv also.

There's no one to buy them.

He'd pay us a price straight through and it was always more than he paid other but we trimmed them ad salted then all so he didn't have to.

He always said we had abgood 50 cent of sat on em.lol

I'll miss him.

He was quite a character and a good guy.

But he was still fur buyer..lol..so ya had to watch him sometimes. Lol

Those are great memories! The cell phone generation are missing out on life. I remember the fur buyer's wife grading some coon while making apple pie and never missed a beat as she went back to making the crust. Was awesome pie!

We're on the way to his celebration of life service

It's a 4 hour drive for us but we are going to pay our respects.
He will be missed.
