well your probably not wrong on much of the tone of conversation on the app it doesn't have to be.
it allows for voice and text , my kids and their friends have discord server groups they primarily use it to fire up a no cost conference call using their PC gaming headset or phone.
it is the party line of the late 20teens and early 2020s the girls chat and giggle
the boys use it for gaming
now that the boys are al old enough to be out of school and have full time jobs they mostly go to a friends house , as in the 19 year old friend owns the house not his parents house they discovered gaming in person was was better. but when your in highschool and getting such a group together is an issue Discord was the tool.
Many podcasts/radio shows use Discord as a way to organize show prep and send messages to the host(s) during the shows

What do you mean by "Sounds like people on here"? I was referencing willys definition of discord,lol

You learned who had the warscripts pretty quick. Had a lot of fun on IRC back then. Probably the most epic chat experience that I remember on IRC was in my heavier gaming days, one of the guys had his client set to beep everytime his nickname was typed in the chat. He said he was going to be AFK a while and not to type his name. So guess what I did? I got the rest of the people in the chat to end every message with his nickname. We kept that going for 2+ hours. He told us the next day that he muted the PC about 5 minutes in.

That is the only definition that I identified with discord. That's why I asked what it was. I thought it may be something negative about trappers.
Its kinda like naming your newspaper, or social media app, "Truth", the name isnt really a good idea for your product...

Sorry if I gave you a spook, I love the trapping community and don't have very much to say that is negative. Run with it youthtrapper it sounds like a good way for young trappers to interact within the new technological environment, alien to some of us old timers.

The problem I see with younger trappers starting such places, is many have not been educated on what to post and what not to. There are a lot of things that cause the death of trapping as we know it and posting the wrong things on the internet is one of the big ones,,,, that said, I'm afraid that ship has sailed with the stupid stuff I've seen posted on youtube, facebook, etc... so I wish you luck Youth Trapper. I might suggest a more experienced (with internet trapping forums) moderator or two for your forum.

Whcih now that i think about it, the invite link should probably be taken down because this forum is public. Invite links can be set to only be viable for a sey amount of time to prohibit them from being shared publicly for too long.
