You sound like you don't understand how the global petroleum market works and the effect of less American crude going into it.

It's $380 a ton here. I plan on burning coal again this winter, it's still cheaper than heating with oil.

I caught a piece of a news blurb yesterday about people starving in China due to being locked down... Mostly older folks. Governments enacting policies to rid themselves of the "useless eaters" was a phrase that was in there somewhere.

If I have means to heat my home and my elderly neighbor doesn't, they will be under my roof for as long as it takes to keep them from freezing.

I am willing to bet most of the folks on here share that sentiment. It is the purpose of the strong to defend the weak... And oftentimes we can do that without firing a shot.

I understand global oil prices. My daughter works for a major oil and gas production company.

Have a thought on the crude oil pipelines. Does Canadian oil travel to our gulf coast refineries in a crude oil pipeline, then travel back up north in a refined fuel pipeline? Suppose we built refineries near the crude sources. If we could, wouldn’t that eliminate the cost of one pipeline.

I am not at all opposed to pipelines. We need more. We need more refineries also.

Never get a refiner built on US soil with the wackos in Washington. Hess's refiner in the US Virgin Islands was denied a permit recently. They want to drive us in the ground with high oil prices until the middle class submits to their ideology.
