Me and a buddy are from PA we both drew alligator tags for zone 2 midlde coastal area but have never been alligator hunting so its a new experience. We are big game hunters and trappers in PA, OH. Anyone ever hunt them in south carolina that got any tips or locations of where to go in the middle coastal region? PM ME or from south carolina that didn't draw a tag but love hunting gators that would want to take us out as we got 2 tags? any help would be appreciated.

Clint

I've hunted tight to the coast in both SC and GA.
Could hear the surf.
Ran into Kirk DeKalb from here at a convention and he gave me a LOT of good general advice before I went to GA.

Used a harpoon in GA, but couldn't get close enough in SC, very skittish.
So snatch hooks/ casting at them.

Expect I'll be back in GA this year.

Just looked at zone map and I have hunted SC middle coastal.
More experience with Pee Dee zone (4?)

Will see what I can dig out of the cob webs in my head
and give you more info.

Good luck, Dave

Just pack a pistol when playing golf or sit on a marina dock. There is one one in every pond of every golf course and they are all over the place where people clean fish when they come back to the marina. here is one from a couple of weeks back in the marina on Hilton Head Island
