It's a 3/4 grooved axe- a celt has no groove.
It's a dandy. Did it come from a reliable source?

If you found that laying in the woods or fields while out walking you have hit the jackpot .I spend a lot of time just out walking and looking for shed antlers, metal detecting ,digging for old bottles etc .And I have found some interesting artifacts. But what you have pictured is a historical find that is beyond anything I have ever located

Thanks everyone,
Found it on a small creek, it's a dandy I've found 20- 30 so far I've posted a few on here in the past.it takes a lot of time and a st ton of walking but still every once in a while I pull a awesome find like this, a guy that doesn't no would be very surprised how many primitive camps are around, and you definitely get an eye for finding them once you put your time in.
