I made the mistake of working too long in the heat the other day I got to were I my cloths were wringing wet but had basically stopped sweating my mouth was dry
I was making good progress uninterrupted so I just kept going
now I have heat rash in several spots
anyone have any better treatments than daily showers and application of 1% hydrocortisone ointment ?
clearly when the chain saw ran out of gas the first time I should have filled me up with water

My dad was a old time county doctor and this is what he used:
1. Apple Cider Vinegar
Mix 2 teaspoons of undiluted Apple Cider Vinegar in an equal quantity of cool water.
Take a few balls of surgical cotton. Dip a cotton ball in the mixture and apply on the affected parts. Let it sit for a couple of hours.
Apply twice daily for about a week.
Found this on the net to back up his claim:
Apple Cider Vinegar, also commonly known as ACV is one of the best home remedies for heat rash. It has a soothing effect on the itching and irritation caused by the heat rash and helps in curing the infection in a speedy manner. Apple Cider Vinegar has amazing antibacterial properties and is a natural antimicrobial as well. It is probably one of the best anti-inflammatory agents that help contain the inflammation caused by heat rash. Apple Cider Vinegar is one of the best home remedies for heat rash.

maybe heat rash means different things to different people
first , I stink often and just shower regular because deodorant gives me a rash/burn of it's own if I am going anywhere I shower first.
my rash is on the center of my chest , back of my ear , wrists , hands , and some other places my arm pits have no rash.
on my hands and wrists it comes on as water blisters little ones it may have on my chest also but they are long burst
I was cutting on a tree I had dropped in my yard , I wanted it cut in march the guy with the bucket truck got here June after some weather and equipment issue delays , it was overhanging the house so I didn't want to risk dropping it myself
400+ tax to rent the bucket trailer that might reach or 450 cash and he gets it down below the roof line and has insurance if he drops it on my shed or house both were under the tree
so I shouldn't have run into anything I was allergic to
I was wearing a long sleeve shirt , gloves , long pants , boots which all came off when I came in the house and got in the shower to cool down.

Ask any Southerner what they use on heat rash, must not be common knowledge in the North. that is why I asked here I don't normally run chain saw at in the 90s the 20s and 30s are my preferred working temperature.

You sure it’s heat rash and not poison oak or Ivey? I was working in the middle of my yard 50 feet from my house , I haven't seen either in my yard ever. I have lived here 18 years I don't live in the woods as much as I would like too I am 3 blocks into town and town is surrounded by corn fields also this would be incredibly mild for poison ivy for me and it is almost all where skin was covered , I intentionally don't go out in the woods much this time of year because I get poison ivy so bad.

That sounds like sun poisoning. I've gotten it a few times, it actually left some small scars on my forearms.
Eh...wot?
