Nope. Once was enough. Never again. It wasn't chewy like other meat gets chewy. It was chewy like little cubed memory foam meat pillows. Yuck. Someone didn't make it right.

My Colombian wife makes a tongue casserole which she often makes when we have special guests. It's finger smacking good. I was going to share the recipe but the darn wife says it's a family secret.
(It's kind of weird....the recipe, even has tuna in it).
My fear of moving stairs is escalating!

Just keep wondering, JP! I butcher with a bunch every year, and I get all the. tongues. Score!! Like the most tender prime rib you have ever eaten! We pressure cook, skin, then looks like an old boiled boot! Then slice about a quarter inch thick, lay on a cookie sheet and freeze over night. Then put slices in a gal bag, back in the freezer. Six tongues last me about a year, for a quick meal, just get out however many you want, put on a paper towel and nuke for a minute or so, and serve with honey mustard! Great in sandwiches too!

Not sure what you ate or how it was cooked but all of it I ever ate had consistency of roast Brother sells grass fed beef, he delivers to packer and customers pick up there. He gets every tongue the customers don't want. Beef tongue is pretty pricey in the grocery stores here
