Suggestions for best ways to catch Skunks and not Cats ? Thank You

Bait it for coyotes.

Sweet baits, not anything with fish in it.

Cheese puffs, banana, mini marshmallows anise

cover your traps with canvas,cloth,rolled roofing,anything to give them and you cover

Positive sets if they are going into a structure or have a solid path to and from, use drift fencing if need be. Double door or single door back to back to catch them coming or going. If grubbing and not entering a structure set "upstream" from the grubbing area. You want to intercept when they are moving in a straight line not milling around.

Wrap your cages leaving the back open for a see through tunnel effect. I use contractor trash bags and duct tape.

Sweet baits will avoid luring cats but the drift fence/travel route may snag a cat if cats are using the same paths. But if you do catch a cat just give the cage a really good shake before turning it loose. Cats are easy to catch the first time they don't like repeating unpleasant experiences.

Just release the cats when you catch them, they won't be caught again.
And yes, cover the trap to protect yourself. Feed bag will work.

well just set for a raccoon 99 percent chance you'll catch a skunk! at least that's how it goes for me lol.

Use some Grape jelly on a paper plate. That smell gets them every time.

I catch skunks when trying get woodchucks all the time. I use the centers and rind of cantaloupe for bait.
I release the skunks, have a string attached to the door so I can lift it from a distance, never a problem.
