I hate getting a notice that "the item has shipped" when all that has been done is a label has been created. Sometimes it is 2-3 days before the delivery service actually gets the item. To me, when the item is in transit is when it is shipped. End of rant.

No doubt, seems a little deceptive to declare it shipped when the item has never left the seller.

Find something else to worry about. Can't change that business model. Probably more people like the notice than don't like it.

That “it has shipped” notification is probably built into the software program the shipper is using. Once he/she prints the label, the notice is automatically sent. Nothing the shipper can do about it.

Note - I agree it can be frustrating, just explaining that it isn’t the shippers fault.

EBay shipping does that, if the seller waits to print the label until they are actually going to ship the item that wouldn't happen. I guess I am guilty, many times I get the label ready the night before I ship it. My auctions usually end around 7:00 PM so the Post Office is already closed, I do ship first thing the next morning.

When sending something back for a refund, those messages are comforting.

Mine is, when I order from most trapping suppliers it is at my house before I’m ready. They say 3-5 days and it is there the next day most times. Like, goodness. Didn’t even have time to make room.

Mine is a site not having a way to calculate shipping without you having to enter your name and full address. Seems so simple to just put a box to enter the zip code to estimate the shipping cost. I should not have to provide all the details to see the approximate shipping cost.
