I'd say that IS the point.
Those models with no mag are just single shot rifles ..... not much better than a muzzle loader when up against what they are.

I’ve always heard stories like that. Mine have been different. My son shot blue rocks off of a gelding we had. Another time on a different gelding, I was elk hunting and leading the above gelding and a mule back to camp since my brothers decided to hunt back on foot. A spike bull stepped out in front of me. I slid off my horse and dropped the lead ropes while still holding my horses reins. I shot the bull twice with my 44mag revolver and killed it. My horse never tightened up the reins and the other two had their heads back in the grass by the time I turned around to look at them. Just lucky I guess.

My uncle always said you could shoot off any of his mules……. Once. Lol
