They make perfect sense in areas that are firearm restricted for safety reasons. I don't know why anyone would be opposed to them.

I don't guess I see why they would be any worse that the modern in-lines during muzzle loader seasons. Those are definitely not primitive weapons.

Why the uproar? I can think of fewer things more primitive than air. How about if the air gun crowd hand makes the bolts from cedar and tie the flechings, and stone points on to the shafts? Would that calm down the primitive tribe?
Nevermind.
I would stick with a crossbow. I know how accurate that is. I haven't heard anything yet how accurate an arrow gun is at various distances.

You would think but we've got at least one county here, Fulton, prohibiting even bowhunting thanks to a few deer staggering into subdivision front yards before keeling over with arrows sticking out.
