Looks fine to me, can't tell till you shoot something, speaking as an amateur of course.

Bulets that blow up like that, will lack penetration.

a 45gr soft point Hornady bullet that didn't do that would be more of a surprise
the only .224 bullet Hornady makes that isn't varmint or target is a all copper that is new. that is a very old box of bullets in the picture.
I expect if you can slip it between the ribs on a hog or put it in the neck you will kill them just fine
the 55gr through the ribs on a deer almost made it out the other side , it will take out the lungs and make organ jelly , it definitely comes apart and dumps all the energy , just don't expect an exit.
if you need an exit hornady soft point .224 isn't the bullet to use

Better be a wide open area where you can see or an anchoring shot. Bullets like that don’t leave an exit if they even penetrate enough. On a coyote I’d think they’d probably be ok, but if they run I doubt you’ll find them. I want all my bullets leaving me something to follow if they don’t drop. Try not to take shots that won't end with a DOA honestly. Hate tracking and meat always seems to be better when they drop in their tracks. At least that's what it seems like with hogs

I have never shot a pig that didn't involve near press contact but that should work it may not come out the other side but it should drop them.

Wow! Who would have guessed that a frangile Hornet bullet would shoot that well out of the 223. I have an application that requires explosive expansion. I'll have to try a box.
