Phone is ringing off the hook. They have slowly migrated here, and this year is full bore. I try to educate most folks on them. But, they are strange and new for folks here. I've had folks that wouldn't leave their home when seeing one in their yard.
Yes, it has been a great money maker for me.
I grew up in Florida near Disney and we used to as kids catch them bare handed and cast nets. Then we would paint them fluorescent green and orange and turn them loose to fool the vistors coming to Disney.
Sure got alot of stares and laughs.
So, you ADC guys. Are there any tricks other then lots of guiding them into traps. Some folks just want them gone and shooting them isnt always an option.
I use fence panels and lots of traps and that works. Sometimes overnight or days. But, folks are terrified and want them gone like yesterday. Lol.

Fencing fencing and more fencing. Never wash a trap after a catch, they really like the smell of their kin.

Second on a urine soaked trap. Usually multiple catches. Especially if it's a female.
The folks at lowes must think im in the fence building profession.

I was always a believer in drift fencing for most yard critters.

A good days catch.

Kinda the same formula as porcupine catchin'

I think I read somewhere that 'dillos will eventually be as far north as Ohio and Pennsylvania.

So what do you do with them once you have trapped them? Any food value? sell the shell? anything for sale there?.....jk

They don't get released. Let's just say they have a soft spot between head and shell.

No market that I'm aware of.

Armadillos are one of the easiest animals to trap. No need for building any fences.

A good lure/ scented wooden trap, in the right location is almost a guaranteed catch.

If it makes a track on this earth , I can catch it.

I did not realize that in my grandpa's day..........born 1901.........there were no possums here. They filtered in starting fairly soon thereafter. Hope 'dillos aren't as cold tolerant.

I've heard that a cajun will eat anything but that's just plain disgusting.

And I'll eat almost anything.
