My dad had one about like that years ago. It was full time four wheel drive and would run 32 miles per hour top end.

Dane that thing brings back memories, that was my first vehicle right down to the snow plow, best 50 dollars I ever spent, made a lot of money plowing the neighborhood driveways, wasn’t the fastest vehicle on the road but it would go anywhere I pointed it

Mine was painted rattle can dark blue by the state hospital where I bought it at auction when they closed in the 80s

Really wish I had been smarter and kept it but young and dreams of fast cars and fast women are at the forefront at that time so It got traded for something cooler and faster along with some of those dollars I had earned with it

Hey Catpincher, I've got a '47 looks just like with cab (no doors) it was painted baby blue back in the 60's. The pain has finally come off the cab still on the body. I really need to get it up and going.

I put this in the Jeep people thread also, but here's the 47 my dad and grandpa used hunting in Colorado in the 50s. They replaced the stock 4 cylinder with a flathead 8.

Umm... have you ever rode in one of those? If stock, I'm not sure if that thing in the dash qualifies as a heater. Lol. A lot of guys installed heaters out of other makes in those old jeeps, Ford heaters were real popular to put in them.

I put the marvel oil in the plug holes and let it sit for a couple weeks then put a wrench on the crankshaft it moved freely. Then I put a new battery in and disconnected the fuel line. Hit the starter and it sounded like an old Jeep trying to start. Now the work starts!

I have a 49 cj3A--- my wife bought me last winter as I had been wanting one to replace the 51 pickup I sold a few years ago. It is still stock but has been updated and runs great. I love these flat fenders--- need to find a top for mine--- you can get a lot of enjoyment bringing it back to life

Try this, it's slow work. But I had to do same thing to my old truck .
They used oil base barn paint. And I wanted to keep "original GM paint". [Linked Image]
