Yesterday for the first time in months I spun through the cable news networks while eating breakfast. Once and a while I like to monitor to see if they're up to their same old crap.

CNN didn't disappoint me. They were talking about the "Doomsday Glacier." Apparently, according to CNN, this rapidly receding glacier could cause a catastrophic rise of the world's oceans (three to ten feet). I got a good chuckle out of that.

The folks at Fox were droning on about some political stuff I had zero interest in.

Morning Joe and the fabulous Mika at MSNBC had on a very educated, very liberal commentator who was explaining the psychology behind how us deplorables tend to glom on to a powerful figure like Trump and blindly follow our leader no matter how much of an evil jerk he is. I know there's a few folks on here that would agree with him.

The faces highly sophisticated Mika makes are always entertaining.

I'm good for another six months or so.

Coincidentally, an article about the Thwaites Glacier, the one CNN calls the Doomsday Glacier, was linked in my daily news email from 1440.

New technology using very high resolution imaging of the west antarctic seafloor shows that the glacier has retreated more than twice as fast at points in the past 200 years than it currently is.

It is simply responding to local climate.

Lugnut You are a better man than me .If I am trying to eat breakfast and enjoy a morning coffee watching any of the nonsense that the self appointed experts call news just makes my blood pressure rise . I am so old I remember when the person sitting at the desk reported the news Now we have a group of fools speculating about whatever the hot topic of the day is Their goal is not to report the facts. They think they are the news .

Just think how much coffee money you could save

News took a crap when they went to 24 hours new channels. Not just noon 6 and 10. Got bad way back when watched the same guy on motorcycle just get missed by bomb on bridge. After that ran every ten minutes for a month. They couldn't find any thing more exciting. So had put talking heads in there analyzing everything six way to Sunday.
So they needed to make a news story fill time instead of just report news. Then they pick a political party or person. Spoon feed their opinions and twist on stuff. They are all experts you know.
So I will drink my morning coffee reading about others complaining about them. Lmao!

I'm no better than you West Side. I can only stand a few minutes every five or six months. And it's only out of curiosity to see if anything has changed.

I get most of my news from 1440 Daily Digest, it's delivered to my email each morning except Sunday at 7:00. I signed up for it a couple of months ago and so far I like it. No BS, just short stories about current events with clickable links if I want to delve deeper into any story.

The rest I get here.

It's hard to find news reporting that doesn't put a slant, left or right, on every story.

News from the farm this morning. Everything is wet from dew , it's time to move the goats pastures, there were 3 deer and 2 turkeys feeding on the shooting range this morning, the bee's feeders will need filled again in about an hour.
I need to go get more sugar to feed the bee's with. The last 100lb lasted about a week and half or so.
