Wolfdog91 OP trapper Joined: Jul 2013 Posts: 11,908 Amite county Mississippi	So was at the gas station earlier picked up some stuff and this dog walks up right ? Looks like it got lost or jumped off a somones truck, had bandanna tied around its neck trimmed nails and a collared with a tag. Mkay well I sit in front of the store and tried to call. No answer. Well loaded the dog up because my phone said the number was from two towns over. Anyway get the dog home message the guy on FB and he responds saying yeah that's his dog he lives right behind the place just don't worry he'll find his way back.... Well I tell him I load him up and to just give me his address and I'll drop him off at his place well he give the the addy and I head over that way. GPS leads me to a drive way with a guy in a truck sitting in front of it . "O cool this must be him " I think. Well I get out let the dog out and wal ove to the guy who is looking super confused. He asked what I was doing letting that dog out next to his gate. At this point in time I happen to notice all the rebel flags ,trump 2024 signs and yeah every bit of black in me goes " Ahhhhh....this is not good .." (And please don't take that too far out of context) Well I asked if he knew the owner who's name was on the tag and showed him the message where he said to drop him off at that address, I guess he saw I was just as confused as him and started laughing. Said that dog had been getting in everyone's trash and he was getting sick of it. Guess now he knows who's bone he needs to pick said he understood the misunderstanding and want anything problem,ended up cracking some jokes ,shaking hands and driving off but man....you talking about AKWARD !

GREENCOUNTYPETE trapper G Joined: Sep 2013 Posts: 18,645 Green County Wisconsin	We have some awkward situations , but we often grow from them. friend of mine from work his son died this was about 2003 so I offered to help him clean out the house and move stuff from Chicago back to where he was living in WI. not going to lie it got a little uneasy feeling when I was the only white dude for at least 8 blocks , but he introduced me and then I was just a friend helping out and not the big redneck in Chicago. we were cleaning out the house because the son was shot to death by a dirty cop in the house. America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

All joking aside I know the feeling of being out of your element. I can’t count how many times Ive been working jobs in Atlanta in the hood and its awkward as all get out just going in a store. Ill be the only redneck cracker in line with about 10 black folks and I feel like a crocodile in an alligator pond. Glad everything went well and thank you for being a good human being trying to help someone out! That kindness is almost all but lost these days.

I pulled in and parked, but was in my company van and work clothes. Everyone stares when I walked in except the man behind the counter. He asked what I wanted and I said it depends on what everyone recommends, lol. Ended up with a sampler of BBQ and Wings. What’s funny is an older gentleman came in and asked me what was good. He said if a white guy was in here it had to be good and what did I recommend, lol. Been back a few times when I’m in town and always greeted as Mr. Telephone Man. The lady that fixes the plates already knows my drink and has it ready when she sees me pull in. They serve that good ole fashioned SWEET tea!!

I agree the dog looks thin, no wonder it's getting into garbage it's not being fed or taken care of. is it female or male? It looks like my golden retriever especially in the face. Must've been a decent passenger for you. I hope it finds a better home than where it's at now. Did you consider asking the owner if you could help it if you're wanting a dog. I'm sure it'd have a better home.
