Interesting, I never knew there was such a thing.

I got myself a seniors' GPS.
Not only does it tell me how to get to my destination,
it tells me why I wanted to go there.

The Goose was 320'-11" wingspan, but never really flew. Just a high speed taxi in ground effect.

I read in numerous accounts that Howard Hughes had the
Spruce Goose accidently airborne in Long Beach harbor
for a few minutes on it's maiden test taxi before
permanently grounding it ?

They floated the "spruce goose" on barges up the willamette within 2 miles of my house. It is pretty impressive inside as they have made it into the centerpiece of the air museum. I would like to see the dornier though.

Yes, and I bet in was intentional. But it never gained enough altitude to get out of ground effect.
It never actually "flew" and there is only speculation as to whether or not it actually could have.
