anti gov, get the dot to back off and drivers will come out of the woodwork Amen to that ...... Let the working man work ! They will just let unlicensed emigrants drive while requiring citizens to spent several grand to go to school or sign up for a contract to drive for x company for a year. I thought it was a requirement to be able to read and speak English to drive a semi but I have been proven wrong with some of the drivers coming into work lately.

Providence Farm, Americans are getting out of it because of over regulation and lack of services. On my trip to East Bethel I went past 7 different locations that had truckstops 35 years ago and now do not. Instead there were pilots loves and a couple flying j's.
If this train strike happens it will be declared an emergency. Just like other emergencies hours of service and weight limits will be exempted. There will be money to be made. If there is money to be made it will happen. Just because you see freight wagons being herded by incompetent iranians or whatever doesn't mean there are not Americans with the skill to do the job right

Lol. How many truckers would it take to come close to being able to touch the volume of anything moved by rail? About 3.1 trucks per rail car, the exception being Shipping Peanuts, then the advantage goes to trucks.

Doubt that will happen SJA, this is the Conductors and Engineers striking. It takes time to school and qualify on sections/routes.
Military have qualified engineers and conductors' available, you can bet on it. Hold my beer! Watch this ! It is just like driving an APC. "As a Railway Operations Crewmember, you'll supervise and operate the Army’s sophisticated diesel-electric locomotives that move vital supplies and equipment. You’ll train to perform car coupling and uncoupling operations, to send and receive signals, execute orders from signal towers, switches, and other personnel, and to assure the safe hauling of cargo."
