I had a fascinating conversation the other day with a buddy of mine about Revelations. Since, I have started to reread it. It's awesome and in my laymen eyes I see how things are lining up towards bringing the book of Revelations into fruition.
I think it would be cool to have a thread and discussion on Revelations.
Oh and, hi Keith.
I'd enjoy the conversation as well. The book title is singular...Revelation.
This is why most shy away. This is a quintessential example of why a lot turn from Christianity. This is why I, don't wish to engage in biblical speaking with you or Mark June. Mark June comes across as a very arrogant preacher man, you, well from where I come from we don't call things apparently like you do up there. When we go to the store, we went trading at the Walmarts.
I wonder if tap dancers walk into a room, look at the floor, and think, I'd tap that. I wonder about things.....

All throughout the biblical narrative, God shows that His Will is always done and that His Plan always moves forward. His Creation - Redemption - Restoration Plan = the Salvation of the world, is done through meekness not strength, Jesus triumphing by losing, and by God coming down to go up. It's the same way in our lives as we often suffer to be healed and saved from our own foolish schemes.
We pray America as a people, once again are moved to repent and seek "In God we Trust." We're right where God would have us.
Blessings, Mark

Catch22, why would you take offense with someone helping you with a proper context of a book of the Bible? He wasn't telling you off. He was just helping you. Reproofing and correcting are Biblical and we should help one another in honesty and sincerity. But you say no to the Bible and yes to people not be telling me what to do! That's the way of the world called pride. Which is a sin. We all have it in us. People don't turn away from Christianity. They stay in slavery to their sinful nature and the bondage holder = the enemy.
Oh, and I'm not Baptist, so I'm not really a preacher. I do bring up Scripture a lot though. Which is irritating we know to sin and self-righteousness.
Blessings, Mark

Helping me? No. We are all God's children. Where I come from, we say things different. If you understand what is said, why other than arrogance would you go out of your way to using your words, proper context. Also, where did I ever say no to the Bible? Good grief man.....

All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work. 2 Timothy 3:16–17.
So we should extend grace to those who would honestly help by correcting us that the book is called Revelation, because they are simply following Paul's inspired instructions to his disciple Timothy. I get corrected every day. As well I should. God has his children helping each other. Even in their sinful pride. Amen. I need help all the time and I'm glad other believers offer.
Blessings, Mark

JS, I know you'll know I'm having a Love Well, Teach Truth kinda moment in this post because you're not drinking milk anymore ( but actually.... it's all revelation (Scripture) but John's (unveiling) from what God the Father gave to God the Son, who gave it to angels, who gave it to John, who gave it to other servants of God (angels), who gave it to human messengers is written in Koine Greek as; Apokalupsis of Jesus Christ...
so that it might be (according to the specific words which the Apostle wrote); made fully known, revealed, disclosed.
278 of the 404 verses in the Apokalupsis of Jesus Christ come from the Old Testament so we see that God's story has a beginning, a plot, and a final scene. What a marvelous revealing for us all this is! Otherwise, we'd all be guessing.
The truth of prophecy from God the Father of a final one world urban system at the end of the book... has been the makeup of countless deceptions and lies by the enemy.
Blessings! Mark

People go too far with religion, and can actually push people from attending church. I've seen this with my own girl and I didn't blame her for not wanting to go because the person waz becoming a pia to me also.
People that can't talk about it being a beautiful day without giving you a sermon have something wrong inside I feel and do, without a doubt, push people away.

I had a little old lady once told me perfection and legalism are cousins. Lawyers love to quibble over words when they got nothing else and feel the need to keep control, it is what it is and means nothing if you don't know the meaning of the word is, unless it is implied of course.
We need to have compassion for lawyers. They have spent all those years and money learning what they do, and there is no worse feeling than being all dressed up and no place to go!

As far as Christianity Rapidly Dying Out in US, the theme of this post; Could it be that we give people too much credit for what we think they can accomplish in other people? Are the followers of Christ put in charge of the gathering of people for Christ's Church? Some think so. I'm not of that camp.
Believers are instructed to love God and love others. We live in a nation of countless blessings but the cultural teachings is get yours at any cost, eat, drink and be merry, and despise authority. We are not in any way unique in this regard. It's how people's nature has always wanted people to live.
If you think Christianity depends on what people do, you give all of us way too much authority and God far too little. You wanna be disappointed in people, try being a pastor! Try teaching love God and love others week in and week out and see how the believer's respond to God's Word according to what they think outta be done around here!
In the end, we know, because God spoke and it was recorded by Matthew that; Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. Blessed are the gentle, for they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied. Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.Blessed are those who have been persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when people insult you and persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward in heaven is great; for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
Christianity has always been tempered and is being refined still. In us. In our country. Around the globe. All may not be according to what we'd all do but we place ultimate trust where it rightfully belongs. And we do the best we can, where we are, with what we have.
