I’m right with ya bass. I bought some early on. It’s ok, but I go right by the Sitka racks. I can’t justify the cost to quality.

Yep

I have nine complete sets ( 6 pocket pants , short sleeve t-shirt , long sleeve t-shirt , long sleeve button up ) of old school camo . Some faded , some dyed , some mismatched , but I can run a fresh set everyday for a solid week of archery hunting .

I see guys running one set of high dollar camo all week . Nasty ......

I'd have to mortgage the house to buy nine sets of overpriced , overrated , city slicker , pretty boy camo

I'm not against high prices stuff at all...
It most certainly has a purpose/ reason.
But for the vast majority of those buying it, it's nothing but a fashion statement.
But that goes with alot of thingsoutdoor related. Guns/bows/boats,ect.

Heck, for what you’ve spent you could’ve bought 2 sets of “overpriced” clothes. The unique thing about overpriced clothing is most have anti-fungal materials where they can be worn for weeks without stinking. I wash my hunting clothes after hunting season. I will wash my socks once a week sometimes twice a week.

Yeah, I have proof, lol. It’s amazing what these “overpriced” clothing live up to, lol. I live in “Tropics” type weather during turkey season and archery season, so trust me, if I stunk after wearing them my wife wouldn’t let me in the house.
I find it funny folks will bash something they know absolutely nothing about. I compare them to the folks that complain about the government, but never vote.

I hunt with sitka stuff and have since they came out on the market. For the active hunter, I believe it worth the price even though its steep. Its all relative. How many here have 1000s invested in 4 wheelers, RVs, high end optics, fish finders? Do have a 5000 dollar 4 wheeler because you cant walk a half mile but whine about a 400$ jacket?

Ive also guided in the stuff and i thought it did great. Other guides had similar stuff. Mostly jackets. Jeans when riding the horses about. I put a lot of days on my gear and i think it holds up fine. Ya, every once in a long while i might get a hole, but thats rare and a sewing machine will fix it right up.

As far as camo goes i do think it makes a difference. Being still is part of the game, but there are a lot of examples in nature of things being camo to stay hid. I just shot a doe the other day with my longbow at 9 paces on the ground. Im glad i was in my sitka.

To each there own. I think the stuff is awesome

I will attest. It does get stinky. The merino wool layers not so bad. The light weight synthetic ones stink up real quick. Was out east for an 8 day antelope whitey muley elk trip and it was hot. And i stunk. Bad

Never needed a 400 jacket to kill anything I hunt.... did hunt with a guy once that had a bunch of that fancy clothes, guess it made him feel better about himself since he wasn't seeing many deer from the road. At night we'd all compare notes of what we saw and he'd tell us how much he gear cost and how many deer he would have killed if he'd had his "Creed" instead of the bow. I guess the "Creed" was better suited for hunting from the road. Lol

I can only speak to the rain jackets. Not worth $400. For $400 put some snaps on the jacket for when your plastic fine tooth zipper goes out. I have some cheap Chinese rain jacket that has big tooth zipper with a flap with snaps. The Sitka's wore out as fast jacket's half the price. They used to stink just fine after two weeks of always being wet. I never owned one that didn't. Spent plenty of time in leaky, zipper blown ,stinky Sitka rain jackets. The camouflage Sitka briefs are well worth the money. They never turn yellow in the front or brown in the rear, and smell good too.

I was the most skeptical one and was also the one who started that last thread. If you’re going into rugged mountains in bad weather or have the potential for bad weather, good gear pays for itself on the first use.

Yup. Good gear always pays for itself in the long run especially when you buy it used for 50% of normal cost.

Same experiences here. It doensnt matter what matter the clothing but cotton and especially the synthetics get stinky right off the bat. But there’s something to the wool it don’t stink.

As a side note… you guys realize there are aboriginal guys out there right now killing critters in loin clothes with spears and homemade bows and arrows. They would probably think anything we use here in the USA is extravagant and not needed.

Thanks Bernie, I will give the huntworth site a look. I guess my take on Sitka after all the talk and even the
Comments from people that need…never mind. I guess if I haven’t learned how some people are on here I’ll never learn. So for avid waterfowlers and mountain hunters that live in the stuff they can justify spending the $$$ to get
a bit better product. I am a turkey and deer hunter. Spent $520 for a pair of Russell moccasins 7 years ago. I
live in them for 5 straight weeks, I am 57 and probably won’t replace them. So I guess to each their own I just
wasnt impressed. Sorry for giving my opinion to those that don’t agree with my opinion.

I’d like to see y’all’s suitcases when flying for a two week hunting trip, lol, especially if you have to change every single day after walking 5-10 miles a day. Bet the airlines love y’all.
Heck, or even driving and remote camping. Half the bed of the truck must be filled with clothes.
