Yours does have a name. It's Merbok.

We won’t see this one. Variable N/S 10 it’s and seas 2 ft or less into late next week.

I read about it in the paper this morning so we are hearing about it. I hope everyone is safe.

Houses floating off their foundations, record storm surge, high winds. Loss of power. And how about the hunters holding up in their tent camps.

Was a long night here........waiting for some sort of flying debris to impact my house.

Raining sideways . Blowing 35 gusting 45-50. Could be a lot worse. Visibility was about 600 feet at dusk last night. Could be a lot worse !

Certainly a bad time to be on the water. Waves in the N-S stretches of the river approaching four feet. Glad I am not moose hunting.

I'd have nightmares thinking about an airplane not in a hangar. Sure would want the spoilers sewn into the wing covers or tie some black spruce trees to the leading edges of wings to keep a 'Cub from flying itself away.

For sure. I think you were in Russia back in 2000. We got a heck of a blow like this. Flipped Tom's J5 and his Champ even though they were both tied down. Had to rebuild the wings on the J5 but the Champ was totaled.

In my experience it is very common for us to have a storm like this almost every year during this same week. I have always thought it is somehow related to the equinox. But maybe it's just coincidence.

I can relate to this storm in how folks prepared their planes for hurricanes . Hangers are vital .

And yes, Mike I always know of storms of sizable consequence in the US, which is all of America. Pilots too have a way of monitoring everything weather.

I wonder how far inland this storm will traverse..

Been in the news the past few days down here. Every time I open my laptop it's a lead story.

No real danger here except on the water or in the air. I'm about 300 miles inland from the coast. Seems like it's calming down a bit now

Been blowing steady 40-50 all day here and supposed to continue all night.

The storm seems to be tracking north a bit and should be hammering Nome and Kotz pretty good. Downriver villages must be flooding, water is rising here and I am 70 mies upriver from the Bering Sea.

My neighbors smoke house wrapped around a telephone pole. It was down on the bank.

I don't have twitter. But it would be interesting to track this storm with a weather app.

Skies are clearing. Temperature dropped from 51 to 38. Rain has stopped and the wind has laid down quite a bit. Birch trees are almost bare from the wind.

Jeff, I didn't know you are that far west, I guess I assumed you were way east, near the Canadian border.
