Awesome! That's one of my dream/bucket list hunts. To heck with the west, Ky is where it's at! How was it getting it packed out?
I wonder if tap dancers walk into a room, look at the floor, and think, I'd tap that. I wonder about things.....

It wasn't horrible. Used an electric chainsaw to get the side by side in and the winch a lot.

NICE!!!! Can nonresidents apply for an elk tag in ky? When I was younger my aunt an uncle took me to a place where the state or feds had released them. They lived in white oak tn. But we went to ky to view the elk. Wasn’t far, less than an hr the best I can remember. Probably been 15-20 yr ago Yes you can. I believe 10% of the tags go to nonresidents. We had a guy from North Carolina and 1 from Colorado that would come visit us at the camper every day.
It is what it is.

We also have a limited bear hunt. Proud to say this state has a lot to offer. We do. My heart is in upland bird hunting. We are really poor in that area now. I’m not if the state could do much about that now.
It is what it is.

Really good bull. Big royals on it. Pa just finished up the archery elk season. Many folks worked up because non residents got picked for 35% of the bull tags. They got applications for the drawings from all 50 states, as well as some other countries. 35% is a little steep in my opinion. I understand the 10%. They just want to up the money.
It is what it is.

Nice !
Looks like a hole or 3 , them shoulder bones don't punch through well on elk
Back in the day with slower bows and fat aluminum arrows that shoulder bone was an elk hunters worst nightmare

Applying to the elk lottery is a money maker for KY, with little chance of drawing a tag , especially for Non residents. BUT, If you have enough money or are a celebrity , it’s no problem getting a KY elk tag. The company I use to consult for received around 7 KY elk tags per year, if you have $7000 - $10,000 you can have one.
