the Marlin 39a stated in 54 and wen to 83 mad I wish I had a few of those at 22 dollars

Remington 742 was form 60-80

the Remington 722 was discontinued in 61

so guess in 1960 or 61

In 1956 my marlin 336 in 35 rem cost 56 muskrat pelts(basically a buck a pelt), still use it. In '55 the Ithaca 37 was $76 but I was talked out of it by the gun store sales man, I never did own one.......jk

That Ruger pistol sold for that price for about 10 years. Pretty sure they started making them in 1949.

I was going to guess late 40s on the gun ads. I have some ads just like it that were sent to my Great Grandpa. I bought my 1st shotgun a single shot H&R back about 1984 for $36 and change at a Coast to Coast hardware store where you could also buy 100 rounds of Remington .22 caliber rimfire in the plastic slide top boxes for under $2.
