I like coffee, but can't drink it. It makes my heart go crazy. I saw on TV this morning studies show that 2-3 cups of coffee can result in life longevity.
The difference between animals and humans is that animals would never let the dumbest ones lead the pack.

It's what I drink every morning once the temp gets in the 50's and below. My blood pressure skyrockets with caffeine but I still enjoy a warm drink in the a.m. I also drink hot non-caffeine herbal teas

Coffee, cigarettes, whiskey and chewing tobacco are all acquired tastes. Nobody ever, in the history of mankind actually enjoyed their first taste of any of em'. Nature's way of telling us its poison. Peer pressure leads to addiction, we just convince ourselves we like it. (or love it) Can you recall you first corner of Browns Mule ?

This thread reminds me of a time back in my college days when I went duck hunting with one of my closest friend's brother. The brother is a heckova nice guy, but a bit on the "metro" side of things. Anyway, we crashed the night before at his parent's place and when I awoke at zero-dark-thirty I could hear him grinding coffee beans. Fancy. I'm mostly a Folder's guy (black only - I don't need my coffee tasting like a Snicker's bar). Once his gourmet grounds start brewing I get punched in the face by the smell of hazelnut/mocha/cherry/chai/whatever.
He's making flavored coffee. The pot is made and he fills a thermos with it as we hit the door.
Fast forward about an hour and a half later and we are in the boat. The decoys are out, the blind is up and we have about 10 minutes before legal shooting light. It's a perfect morning for a late-season diver hunt. Wind. Spitting rain/snow. It's miserable - and perfect. And cold. "Hey, do you want a cup of coffee?" he asks me. At this point, I would gladly climb INTO a cup of coffee so I eagerly accept.
The thermos cap is about 2 inches from my mouth when the smell hits me. Flavored swill. But, I figured that the hot intake of liquid would be nice and Good Heavens I could use the caffeine.
As I choke down the last of it - practically pinching my nose to get it down, he says to me, "What do you think of that coffee, huh? Pretty darn good for decaf."
Decaf? He brought gourmet, freshly ground DECAF COFFEE into the duck boat? I asked him how he managed to stuff the sundress he was wearing into his waders.
Decaf.

Coffee has saved a lot of lives around me. I go to bed thinking about the next days cup that’s coming up. LOL always though a coffee truck selling a regular cup of coffee would out shine the swill they sell today.
Was born in a Big City Will die in the Country OK with that!
