I keep enough assault rifle ammo to enable me to get more.... smile

I do have quite a bit of .22 and some 6.5 for my long gun.....a little 12 gauge also.

I admit I have a problem - I'm an ammoholic. I don't want to change. (I guess I haven't hit rock bottom yet.)

Enough for my lifetime and all my grandchildren's life time is still not enough. (Not that I have that much.) I constantly want to add more. Just having it brings me pleasure. I love to look at it, sort it, organize it, count it, admire it lovingly, caress it gently and call it "My Precious".

It takes enormous will-power and self-control for me not to go overboard on adding to my stockpile. Thankfully, I'm able to control my passions. Otherwise I might be in big trouble.

Someone like the ATF maybe?

Telling everyone what you have makes them all jealous. But proving what you have is another story.

Considering I shoot one or two deer a year and may be a bear and I shoot my gun one time before that to be sure it’s on I rarely use more than five rounds per season of rifle. I guess I need a little bit more than they have right now to last me the rest of my lifetime but not a heck of a lot. If I bought 20 boxes of .308 Federal Trophy Copper I’d probably have all I need for my remaining years. I rarely use a .22 anymore as the pellet gun or .17 fill that need. Shotgun is what I use a few boxes a year of, 6 or 7 1/2 bird shot. Had a guy at the local gun shop complaining about ammo hoarders and how there’s be plenty to go round if not for all the folks sitting on 10k rounds. I tend to agree with him but don’t really hold it against anyone. Happy trapping! ScottW

10 k rounds of various ammo isn't necessarily a lot, depending on shooting habits and how many people may live in the household.

To each his own.
