Lot of information in that short article.

Neat article, thanks for posting Paul. Your dad sure wrote some interesting articles.
I got myself a seniors' GPS. Not only does it tell me how to get to my destination, it tells me why I wanted to go there.

More, these old stories remind me of myself in the 50's. Needing money for car insurance on a cold frozen day in January got two small mink both frozen to the traps high above the water line. The creek-almost river was lowered for fear of flooding due to a rain coming up. Paid most of the 6 months of insurance ($30)that I needed.....jk

Great article and picture. Your father had a knack for making the reader feel like he was on the Trap line with him.

Another glimpse into the past When I began trapping n the 1960's trapping was a very secretive endeavor Trappers did not reveal where they where trapping or what methods they used to catch animals .Lures where considered to be of some kind of majic formula made to trick the animal into a trap Charlie was a man ahead of his time Trapping was more like a science to him He studied the critters he was trying to catch and knew their habits And he did the same with the traps he was using . He made sets the animals told him .would be successful He was a great teacher to many trappers like me . I can say without any doubt that his thoughts on trap adjustment and fastening traps and his way of explaining things in a down to earth way had a big influence on my success and my enjoyment throughout my trapping career .Thanks for posting Paul It is very interesting history to me .
