Stopped by the courthouse today to vote early. It used to be, and I believe it still is PA law that f you are carrying, they have to provide you with a lockbox for your firearm. Well, before the metal detectors, I saw no lock boxes. I will note here that I was unarmed. I was more curious than anything. At the X-Ray and metal detectors were two rent-a-cops. I was wearing sweatpants, a tee shirt and tennis shoes. I had my wallet and keys. I placed them in the tray, put them through the X-Ray and walked through the metal detector without any alarm. Picking up my items, I asked one of the rent-a-cops if lock boxes were available and where they were at if I was carrying. The other rent-a-cop comes over and asks the dumbest question of the month. "Why? You're not carrying, are you?" Something just annoyed the heck out of me. Sometimes stupid people just strike a nerve with me. I just looked at him and said, "Really? I just went through the X-Ray and metal detector...... Really????" I just looked at him and shook my head while walking away. Yea, I was kind of rude, but come on now. People need to start using 5% of their brain. Turns out that after all that, the election's office moved out of the courthouse. As I was leaving, I guess this idiot wanted to get the last word, so he yelled over, "To answer your question, people try to bring all kinds of stuff in here. Someone tried to bring in brass knuckles not too long ago." I wasn't about to get in an argument with a moron, so I just waved and left. I resisted the urge to say, "Yea, and you caught it with the X-Ray and detector right, you idiot?" I bit my lip so hard that it's going to leave a mark. Sometimes I just can't take stupid anymore.

I have an acquaintance who checks metal detectors and security for an alphabet agency , you don't really want to know how bad some of them are.

It's his job to get stuff through then he shows his ID when he does get caught , so they don't know who he is and should check him just like any other person.
