So, I think I'm too late to use Speed Dip and have the stink blow off before I wanna set. So which dip, now ?? I have zero experience ........
Full Metal Jacket sounds good. But it's pricey.
Dakotaline and Formula One are water based and more economical.
Others ??
Thanks for your input !!

For last several years (going on 6 now) have just been waxing mine only. I clean them up at the end of season, re-wax, and hang them in my garage out of the elements. Zero rust. Catch coyotes all season long and works on my water traps too. Some of my newer ones (bought in last 5 or 6 years) have never been dyed or dipped, just waxed, give me a few more years of this experiment but starting to believe I was wasting a lot of time and money on dips and boils all those previous years. Got 40+ years trapping behind me and I learn something new all the time. Jim
Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

I use this, after it was talked about on here. It works very well, I either just dip the bare trap, or spray paint the trap and then dip depending on my mood. Holds up well at least for me. Around me Menards keeps it in stock.

Stick to the traditions dye and wax all the way and you won't go wrong. I have tried every dip out there on the market all of them have decreased my catch ratio.

I have been in some of the = Most educated coyotes in West Texas and caught = old sheep killers with 3 legs and hardly any teeth and all I us is Formula 1. Been using over 15 years. Multiple states. Thousands of coyotes

I love my formula 1, ya it's pricy. But holds up well imo. Also I love it diluted down a bit for my snares, really adds some color without adding thickness to the cable, and cote it with zepps and u have a crazy fast snare! You use the formula 1 then Zepps ? I though they were both actually close to the same thing ? I’ve used neither but have formula 1 on order for my snares.

I will say that raccoons shine up almost any trap, but formula 1 sticks to the springs really well and that's the part that I worry about and want to seal the most. Zepps (full metal jacket) will seal as well, it's a floor wax so it slickers everything up nice. I only use this on my snares, and also on my pogo earth anchors. Being they are in the ground for a couple months the zepps helps keep them from coroding allowing me to use them multiple seasons.

I have been using the Dakota line dip the last few years and I have been happy with it. As long as it's not freezing temps you can dip it and since it is water based there is no air out required as soon as they are dry you are good to go. Now the Speed dip will hold up much longer then the Dakota line but I have been happy with it
