That's cool. My comment above yours was not about individual buyers. It was more about the macro fur market.

For the most part, the conflict in Europe blew up last winter. Guaranteeing the energy crisis we are witnessing currently

This didn’t happen overnight

Huge opportunity for the international fur trade missed

It’s unfortunate

Forsure smaller/smarter furrier’s will cash in. Big time

Lots of master furriers in Europe, especially the Italians and Greeks.
They will fill the demand fast.

You don't think the Europeons already own outside cold weather gear? Not going to be any colder outside because they got no gas.

That being said, it usually helps sales, if people are cold before Christmas, for luxury fur items.

What about a fur blanket will make me want to spend money on it ? Like there many practical and social reasons I'd spend money on my $500-$1000 phone , and why I'm paying a car not right now. But really there isn't one I can think of when it comes to me buying fur. I actually need my phone and my car for business transportation communication money handing ect. So I'm willing to spend good money on them... Fur..... That's more of a luxury item that I need to have a good little bit of disposable income to spend on. And when I have the option for other things that I would enjoy more to spend said disposable income on, guns bows gaming systems.....fur is gonna lose our every time. Especially with the way it's priced

I've stated this before. Alot of my generation and the last generation just pain see no reason to wear fur even if we're not against it. Like me I'm pretty utilitarian when it comes to clothes. The care alot of fur requires just plain is a turn off because I work 70% of the time I have no need for it. For the price of one fur coat I could get how many dickey work jackets that I could actually work in and just rotate out. Aslos I just plain don't like the way alot of fur products look. Just don't. So the incentive for me to buy fur anything is super low , as it is with many other people. But I could say the same about a pair of Jordans a Gucci belt ect.

How about cars, computers, cell phones, etc... All were once out of reach for the average person.

Once upon a time, automobiles were a rich man's luxury toy... But someone saw the benefit of producing a decent car for the masses that a working person could afford.

Fur would be the same way if the demand increased... As much as Carhartt wants for one of their stupid beanies, you could probably come close in price point with a utilitarian fur hat.

I have no practical use for a $10k fox coat... A $75 fur beanie that I could get on under my hardhat, you bet.

The throwaway society wants junk, not quality goods.
People shop nowadays so they have something to do because they are bored and have no life.People are so sedentary nowadays, they dont leave their cubicles and have everything delivered to their door.
They want cheap chinese junk that they can throw away after buying new chinese junk.
Same with clothing.
Fur goods last 20 years or more and with minimal care look as good and remain as functional after those years as they did new. Also fur goods that are worn in spots can be easily repaired, altered and last another 20-25 years.
In the long run quality long lasting dependable, functional goods are much cheaper than buying new stuff every year.
But people dont want that-we live in the ME ME,NOW NOW society where trash is king.
Its also killing the planet.

Things will change. The era of waste will soon come to an end.

Sure if you don't really use your fur stuff it may last 20 years. My beaver mitts maybe lasted 5 years. My bear mitts are way tougher, but they now look like crap. smile
